Chromatic Calibration
A cylindrical brass railway signal lantern sat upon the trackside pedestal, its rotating optic jammed midway between ruby-red and emerald green. Broadcasting an indecisive chromatic beacon down Platform 1 violates the fundamental laws of transit. Climbing the cold iron pedestal, I braced my stance against the riveted collar. I hooked my large left claw around the knurled brass filter collar. With calculating, measured torque, I forced the heavy cylinder past its rusted detent. The internal spring yielded with an authoritative, metallic snap. The aperture locked dead-center behind the clear emerald pane, projecting a pristine, uninterrupted vector of green light down the steel rail. Signal ambiguity has been decisively eliminated.
