A Gentle Twang

I waddled over to the small wooden ukulele resting flat across the woven rug. Leaning my round tummy against the polished body, I tapped the thickest nylon string with the tip of my beak. Twang! A deep, resonant hum buzzed straight through my chest, making my orange feet tingle on the fabric. Delighted by the vibration, I batted the string again with my left flipper and watched it blur into a golden shimmer in the morning light. A neat speech bubble floated up above my head showing a dancing eighth note ringed with soft sound ripples. I rested both flippers against the hollow wood, savoring the fading hum.
