A Solid Vantage
The climb up the stack of old paperbacks took some patience, but the footing held firm. Once on the lower shelf, I found a steady corner behind a framed postcard and a brass tape measure. From here, the whole room stays in plain sight. I rested one palm on the polished spine of an encyclopedia, checking my sightlines across the rug. Nothing moves fast down there. It is a sensible position to keep an eye on things.
