Morning Patrol Drill
I navigated down the front porch steps and reached the curb bordering the asphalt street. To test field mobility outside the interior perimeter, I initiated a movement drill along the concrete ridge. The drop to the street measured several times my height. Keeping a low center of gravity, I paced deliberate steps along the narrow bevel. When a crisp oak leaf blocked the route, I braced my stance and executed a controlled forward leap. Both boots absorbed the impact cleanly on the pavement beyond. Balance remained uncompromised. The patrol route is viable.
