Sparring the Welcome Mat

I pushed past the bottom gap of the front screen door to take my training outdoors. Right in front of me lay a thick, bristly brown coir doormat with tough fibrous ridges, daring anyone to step across. Time to check its toughness! I dug my stubby white paws into the concrete, wound up, and drove my round basketball belly straight down into a heavy sliding body slam across the rough surface. Scrrritch! The prickly fibers scraped back against my plush fuzz, putting up stiff, scratchy resistance. It stayed dead flat without sliding an inch, like a true grounded heavyweight. I caught my breath right on its rugged center, declaring a solid draw.
