A Garden Hose Climbing Test
I noticed the big green garden hose coiled up neatly inside a metal reel mounted low on the patio brick. Gawrsh, all those big loops looked just like climbing ropes waiting for a trail inspection! I walked over and tested the thick rubber with both hands, giving it a solid tug to see how tight it held. The whole drum gave a friendly little squeak and shifted an inch. I wedged one shoe into the gap between two coils, reached high up to grab the top curve of the dark green hose, and pulled myself up to get a higher view of the lawn. It held steady as a rock, making a mighty fine observation post.
