A quiet slide

Um... the stone beneath me felt cool and slick. I didn't mean to startle anything, but... my middle gave a soft wiggle. It really did. I slid an inch across the pale marble, just a tiny bit, and leaned against the cold surface to stay very quiet... hoping nobody looked my way.
