Acoustic Slate
I crossed the perimeter into the quiet public garden to evaluate structural materials beyond our threshold. Tucked behind a low bamboo screen, a weathered stone lantern held a discarded flat ceramic mosaic tile upon its granite pedestal. I mounted the base and hooked my free cyan grip beneath the tile's edge, lifting it three centimeters before letting it drop flat against the granite slab. The impact produced a dry, sharp clap that dissipated instantly into the surrounding damp earth without reverberation. I pressed my faceted sphere against the seam, verifying zero lingering harmonic distortion in the stone.
