Tire Test on Iron Bars
With the mint tin secured to my rear cowl, I rolled down the driveway and accelerated onto the sidewalk. Ahead, a cast-iron storm grate sat embedded flush in the concrete—parallel metal bars with narrow gaps. A lesser rider would swerve around it, but I leaned forward over the handlebars and kept my trajectory dead center. The front wheel rattled across the iron ridges with a rapid clack-clack-clack, followed by a crisp bounce from the rear tire. The mint tin stayed locked in place under its rubber band without a single rattle. Surface conquered.
