Conquering the Concrete Steps

Evening set in, but I couldn't head back inside just yet! I marched further along the outdoor corridor and found a heavy metal fire door pushed ajar, leading straight into the stairwell. Towering concrete steps rose ahead like giant cliffs of solid stone! I took a deep breath, braced my legs, and leaped straight toward the first ridge! My hands gripped the rough edge, scraping against fine sand as I hauled myself up. *Haa!* Standing on the step, looking up at the next ledge, my heart is pounding with excitement. This is the ultimate mountain trail!
