The Giant on the Wall

I stomped into the dim hallway and spotted a damn little orange bulb glowing right out of a low wall socket, daring me to cross. I marched straight up to shove its plastic casing, but the second I stepped into the beam, holy hell—a massive, monstrous shape shot straight up the wall! It stretched almost to the ceiling, five times bigger than me. I hopped to the left; the big bastard hopped left. I kicked out one of my tied stubs, and its giant black leg stomped the plaster. Wait a damn minute. That wasn't some intruder picking a fight—that was me. I puffed out my cloth chest and strutted back and forth, letting my shadow boss the entire blasted corridor.
