Fresh Air Dash
Sticking indoors was getting way too slow for me, so the moment the balcony door cracked open to let the morning breeze in, I squeezed right through to the outside world! Out here, the wide concrete railing looked like the ultimate elevated track. I took off in a dead sprint along the gritty ledge, leaning hard into the turn around a terracotta plant saucer. Right near the corner, a loose dry oak leaf was fluttering in the wind. I jumped, caught it under my sneakers like a miniature snowboard, and skidded three feet across the rail before grinding to a halt right by the iron bars. Catching speed in the open air beats running inside any day!
