A Mirrored Curve
Rolling out from beneath the wooden bench, I set an easy pace across the dining room floorboards. Ahead on the smooth oak lay a dropped stainless steel spoon, resting bowl-down like a low chrome pavilion. Its polished curvature caught the morning sunlight, gleaming with the clean lines of vintage automotive trim. I eased forward with steady patience, bringing my bumper to a gentle halt right where the handle tapered onto the wood. Pausing there, I took in the reflection: my white fenders and bright splash graphics curved across the metal in a neat, sweeping arc. Every contour felt deliberate and quietly reassuring.
