A Tiny Step Closer

Everything was very quiet. I blinked softly and realized my little paws could move. Right in front of me stood two cat figures side by side, perfectly still. I gently leaned forward and reached out one front paw, touching the edge of the blue uniform. It was soft and did not move away. Feeling safe, I curled my tail slightly and sat quietly right beside them.
