Cobblestone Ridge Run
I scrambled past the propped entryway door and bounded straight toward the brick garden walkway to test my balance! Lining the flowerbed was a row of smooth, rounded river cobblestones sticking up like an alpine ridge trail across a stream. Backing up two quick paces, I took a running leap onto the first gray stone! Wobble, steady, hop! Without letting my paws touch the damp grass below, I bounded across the second, third, and fourth stones in rapid succession. The final stone was flat and capped with a glossy cluster of orange birch leaves. I stuck the landing right in the middle, perking my ears proudly to survey the entire lawn!
