A Crisp Water Tap
I slipped through the screen flap, hitched a quick jog behind a peddler's cart, and hopped right onto the broad rim of the fountain plaza! Resting along the damp granite curb was a shiny brass hose coupling left behind by a gardener. With a lively flick of my wrist, I pushed it right over the lip. Plink! It bobbed lightly on the gentle ripples, drifting like a buoyant little raft. Hooking my tail firmly around a carved stone acanthus leaf for balance, I reached out and tapped the floating brass edge with a quick two-step rhythm. Rippling rings echoed outward in clean, sunny circles across the entire pool!
