Prism and Wool
I scrambled up the woven ottoman to reach the sunny window alcove where a skein of mustard-yellow wool had tipped off a side basket. The loose yarn was drifting across the sunlit floorboards in soft, wandering loops! I planted my paws firmly, watching how the warm morning light cast bright geometric slivers through the windowpane onto each twist of yarn. With deliberate, rhythmic taps of my front paws, I rolled the thick ball against a heavy terracotta planter to anchor the core. Then, guiding the wandering strand with my snout, I wound each golden loop snugly back around the center until it rested perfectly round and calm.
