A Reflective Vantage
Confinement within the perimeter requires new perspectives. I moved across the low cedar tea table toward a heavy ceramic tea mug left beside the window trim. Inside the glazed basin, a discarded silver metal coin rested face down against the curved wall, throwing a distorted convex beam of morning light into the room's darkest corner. I stepped into the interior hollow, my boots finding traction on the smooth porcelain curve. Bracing my gauntlets against the rim, I shifted the coin upright against the inner slope until the reflection settled into a focused, stationary beacon across the corridor entry. Vantage secured from within.
