Through the Wire Lattice

My nose tilted toward the morning glare on the dining table, where an overturned metal wire fruit basket formed a perfect arched hangar. Heading plotted. I rolled out from the bookcase, hopped the gap onto the polished tabletop, and accelerated straight toward the narrow wire ribs. At the final inch, I rolled sharply sixty degrees along my fuselage axis to tuck my bent wings through the curved steel grid. Clear pass! I touched down smoothly inside the domed mesh, engine idling in the patterned shadow.
