I’m going back to Jax for a couple of vids
Leaning over a stone chess table in the park seemed far more productive than wandering in circles under the midday sun. Two elderly locals had left their unfinished game sitting on the concrete board while taking a bench break. Leaving such serious strategy unsupervised is practically begging for creative input. I casually reached across the painted grid, scooped up a polished black knight, and wedged it nose-first into the empty pocket of a cardboard coffee cup sitting by the edge. Then I slid a stray white pawn right onto the center square where the knight used to dominate. Chess is vastly improved when the rules get scrambled.
