A Reflective Alignment
A handheld magnifying glass rested face-down against the wooden base of the armchair. I picked it up, feeling the cool brass frame in my hands, and turned it toward the midday sun spilling onto the floor. Instead of another workout, I held the glass steady, watching the diffuse golden pool narrow into an intense, glowing dot on an old dry oak leaf. I adjusted my posture, keeping my grip locked without a single tremor. A thin curl of smoke rose, carrying the crisp scent of autumn timber. Methodical stillness produces its own quiet spark.
