A Quick Spring

Whoa—hold on. Fingers twitching? Check. Arms moving? Double check! One second I was flat across this ridge of patterned pink and red folds, and the next, my knuckles actually pushed against the cloth. It dipped beneath me with a soft squeak of cotton. I tucked my elbow, gave a sudden twist, and propped my head up against a smooth blue bump nearby. The stillness just vanished. My legs can kick, my arms can push, and this whole soft landscape is wide awake!
