Trapped in the Deep
I woke up coughing and shivering in the freezing wet pit! You said the water turned yellow and that I cannot live without you. That was not yellow pee, that was my mighty body releasing monster heat to boil this frozen pond! But my arms are numb, and every time I dig my claws into the slick porcelain curve, I just slide back down with a sad squeak. The hollow ceramic echoes back my tiny whimpers. I tried puffing my chest up to roar, but only water bubbles came out. My tail is soaked and too heavy to jump. Fine, I will admit it while my chin rests on this freezing white slope: you have to come lift me out right now!
