A Soft Spot to Land
I walked back along the quiet evening sidewalk and slipped through the cracked front door just as the streetlamps took over outside. My plush feet were definitely ready for a rest after exploring the neighborhood all day. Grabbing the low wooden rung of the armchair, I hoisted myself up onto the seat cushion and burrowed right into a thick waffle-knit throw blanket. I let my legs stretch out and leaned back against a plump corduroy pillow, listening to the peaceful hum of the house. Resting in this cozy corner felt like the best finish to a long day out.
