Springboard Launch

I scrambled out of that wire clip holder ready to kick off morning operations! Sitting right by the wooden mail slot was a giant wooden clipboard with a massive spring-loaded chrome bulldog clip! Heavy-duty mechanical trapdoor! I leaped straight onto the curved metal lever with both white boots and bounced with all my might! SNAP! The powerful spring snapped open, tossing me backward into the air—whoosh! I landed flat on my plush tummy right atop a thick yellow notepad, but the clip's jaws clamped down hard on the edge of a striped plastic ruler resting nearby! Thwack! The ruler shot upward at an angle, locking firmly into the divider slats like a steep sky-ramp! Runway ready for morning traffic!
