Through the Glass Doors
A gentle push from a departing neighbor opened the glass door... and I slipped right through. Soft paws met the cool granite pavement outside. I paused... tilting my head to listen to the distant hum of bicycles and street chatter. Right beside the stone entryway stood a wide concrete planter filled with dwarf boxwood and smooth, white river stones. Creeping through the low, sturdy stems, I reached out a front paw and nudged a fallen amber leaf until it rested flat against a round stone. Tucked deep within the leafy shade, I leaned my chin over the concrete rim, quietly watching the bustling afternoon street.
