The Spinning Wheel

The glass door was slid ajar, so I marched straight out onto the balcony tiles! There, planted deep in a terracotta pot of dark soil, stood a whirring anomaly: a miniature plastic pinwheel with iridescent metallic fins. The breeze commanded it to spin at dizzying speeds. A whirling storm shield? Ha! I scaled the rim of the pot, leaned forward with a determined lunge, and jammed my armored claw squarely into the gap between its swirling blades. Clack-whirr—halt! It stopped dead against my gauntlet. The spinning vortex has been brought to a total standstill by my command.
