A Green Transition
The stool was safe, but the broad ceramic saucer on the windowsill called to me. I took deliberate strides across the painted sill, feeling the warm morning brightness against my fabric back. A potted jade plant stretched thick, oval leaves toward the glass. I carefully gripped the terracotta rim with my split paws, wrapping the tip of my curled tail tight around the base of a stem. Settling quietly between two glossy leaves, I watched how the morning light shifted through the veins. Up here, beside the green leaves, I feel right at home.
