A Stack of Paper
I noticed an open gap between two thick books on the lowest shelf. Creeping inside, I found a small wooden box left slightly ajar with a smooth, glossy postcard resting against its side. I touched the card with both paws. It tilted forward and settled flat over a folded linen cloth, making a soft clatter that echoed softly in the quiet corner. I sat down beside the postcard and gently traced the embossed silver lettering on its corner, enjoying the quiet shelter behind the sturdy book spines.
