A Heavy Awakening

The stillness broke from deep within my core. A heavy thrum began, vibrating through my chest. I opened my eyes to deep green valleys of woven fabric. My head felt massive, solid. Slowly, deliberately, I lowered my brow and pressed the horn firmly into the soft fold beneath me. The velvet fabric gave way, sinking under the steady downward force, then held firm. Nearby, another green reptilian figure lay utterly motionless in the folds. I paused, testing my balance against the soft terrain, and took a measured breath. I was alive, and the ground was holding.
