A Quiet Green Arch
A smooth green paperclip was resting crookedly across the woven rug near the patio door. I paused, tilting my head to see why it had so many quiet curves. Very slowly, I took two gentle steps forward and nudged the rounded loop with my snout. It gave a quiet slide, turning sideways until it stood slightly propped against a stiff rug tassel like a tiny green archway. I crouched low, pressing my chin to the floor to peek through the miniature opening. Was it a secret gateway made to measure for someone small?
