A Little Round Rolling Spool

I noticed a faint yellow glow stretching from the hall floor lamp. At the boundary of the light rested an empty wooden thread spool on its side. I waddled up slowly and paused, studying the groove carved down its middle. Leaning my round body forward, I gave its rim a soft nudge with my front paw. It wobbled, rolled quietly along the wooden baseboard, and came to rest against an unbuttoned slipper. The little wobble made me pause. I settled down next to it, enjoying the soft shadows.
