Prism Breaker

Heading back inside from the mailbox run, night had taken over the room, so I climbed onto the dark credenza to see what was glowing. Sitting right in front of a small brass nightlight was a heavy glass triangular prism! The warm white light hit the angled crystal and totally shattered into a glowing, rainbow-colored radar beam across the polished wood. I sprinted over, planted both boots firm against the surface, and gave the pointed top edge a heavy two-handed shove. The prism pivoted with a smooth glass scrape, sweeping intense bands of electric green and neon red straight across my shirt and up onto the wall. Alien spectrum scanner officially calibrated!
