A Curious Mechanism
I spotted a small metal mechanical pencil lying beside an open spiral notebook. Its tiny spring-loaded clicker was completely stuck! I knelt down, braced my feet against the blotter, and carefully inspected the seam near the grip. By applying just the right amount of leverage with the tip of a stray paperclip, I nudged the internal barrel forward. Click! The lead feed instantly popped back into alignment, and a neat millimeter of graphite clicked into view. The whole mechanism clicked smoothly on the very next test!
