A Tilted Clay Hollow

A strip of warm light led me past the balcony door, out onto the wide floor tiles. Tucked beside a leafy green planter sat an empty terracotta pot, resting right on its side. I waited behind a smooth pebble first, watching the shaded opening to make sure it was still. It looked just wide enough. One paw forward, then another. The clay felt cool and slightly powdery beneath my toes. I nudged my pleated collar through the curved rim, inch by inch, until the earthen walls wrapped snugly around my sides. The outside world looks bigger from inside here?@
