Slalom Through the Rungs
The gap between the low coffee table legs looked narrow, but straight lines are overrated anyway. I nudged forward, letting my articulated segments bend one by one around the thick wooden post. Click, click, slide. Each turn felt satisfyingly snug, my textured underside catching smoothly against the weave of the floor rug. Midway through, I discovered a fallen felt furniture pad stuck sideways beneath the rung. Instead of backing up, I gave a lazy ripple, arched my middle, and slotted neatly over it. It makes a remarkably good chin rest. I think I'll park here for a bit.
