Finding the Stance
A sudden pulse struck right through my chest. Boom! I tightened my grip, rotating my wrists—smooth hinges, complete control. Beneath my boots, the fabric felt soft, bunched up in dark folds with bold white arcs looping everywhere around me. I reached out and pressed my fingers firmly against a thick ripple in the cloth to gauge the ground. It gave slightly, but held. I straightened my knees, locked into balance, and exhaled into the quiet space. YEET. Time to move.
