Operation Beetle Flip

I slipped through the cracked screen door and bounded right out onto the sunlit stone porch! Fresh morning air rushed all around me, but right on the second step, an emergency! A shiny little beetle was stuck upside down, wiggling all six legs helplessly at the sky! No time to hesitate! I leaped down the steps, grabbed the sturdy stem of a crisp fallen leaf, and wedged the edge right under its shell! 'Hold tight, friend!' With a mighty heave, I leveraged the leaf upward—flip! Back on its feet! It flicked its tiny antennae and scurried safely into the ivy!
