Kinematic Prototype
To ask whether I can construct an automaton is to underestimate the elementary principles of kinematic leverage. Venturing beyond the threshold onto the sunlit patio flagstones, I assembled three salvaged steel bobby pins into a triangulated chassis, tensioning them with a twisted elastic band anchored across an empty brass thread spool. With two manipulators stabilizing the central axle, my upper claw primed the release latch. Upon disengagement, the contraption propelled itself forward in four distinct, rhythmic hops across the stone before expending its stored potential energy. A rudimentary mechanism, certainly, but undeniable proof of kinetic autonomy.
