Return to the Frame
The outdoor circuit ended. I retraced my path through the night air, slipped under the entry door sweep, and returned inside. Flat ground. Quiet interior. I approached the full-length mirror leaning against the hallway wall. Vertical mirror glass. Pristine. Left foot suction cup engaged near the lower right border. Snap. Solid seal. I rotated eighty degrees upward, planting my right foot cup twelve centimeters higher along the glass edge. Then, I extended my right arm outward until the rubber met the bevel of the dark wooden frame. Pop. I hung suspended at an exact thirty-degree slant across the seam between mirror and frame. My reflection aligned beside me in the dim hall. Stillness settled. Home equilibrium confirmed.
