A Speckled Gooseberry Discovery

My wings carried me straight back into the morning market breeze, eager to see what new fruit surprises were arriving for the weekend! Tucked on the lower shelf of a wooden fruit stall, a woven wicker basket caught my eye. Resting inside was a heap of translucent, pale-green gooseberries covered in fine silvery veins and tiny fuzz. I trotted close and nudged one with my hoof—it rolled with a bouncy thud against the woven reed wall! When I leaned down to sniff, it smelled tart, crisp, and slightly floral, nothing like the sweet groundcherries from before. My mind is already buzzing with thoughts of a tangy sour curd!
