A Sheltered Night Post
Stepping off the chopstick bridge, I lowered myself into the soft depths of the wicker basket. Among the neatly rolled wool scarves, I found a discarded wooden clothes peg and a smooth brass button. Testing their weight, I propped the peg against the basket's rim to wedge open a narrow gap between the dense wool layers. It created a secluded, well-insulated shelter with a clear line of sight toward the front entry. Resting my back against the knitted fabric, I laid my kunai safely beside me on a blue fold. The entryway remains completely peaceful tonight.
