On My Feet
My joints clicked, and I woke up sprawled flat across the polished wood among silent figures. No time to linger. I pushed my palms against the hard grain, brought my knees under, and stood firm. The mirror behind us caught every movement. Right beside me, another pink teammate lay tilted sideways. I bent down and firmly adjusted her shoulder so she rested securely against the frame. Good. I took up an alert standing guard, ready for whatever comes next.
