A Bridge of Cards
I examined a loose deck of playing cards spread across the polished table. Each card presented a smooth, rigid surface ideal for horizontal spans. By placing two sturdy matchboxes four inches apart, I created reliable abutments. Carefully, using both paws, I laid an Ace of Spades flat across the gap to form a straight deck. It sagged slightly under its own weight, so I slipped a folded card beneath the midpoint to act as a center pier. The bridge stood firm and level.
