A Bed in the Basket.Ep.7

My paws were dusty from the courtyard stones, so I took the stairs back up, moving slowly into the entryway. By the door sat a woven willow basket holding three long umbrellas. I peered over the rim. At the bottom, a soft wool muffler had slipped from the coat rack, bunched into a deep, snug nest. I wiggled my way down inside. The dark wool was warm, smelling faintly of autumn rain and cedar. One black umbrella handle curved right above my head like a little roof. Tucking my feet close against my belly, I rested my chin on the soft fringe and closed my eyes.
