A Clattering Greeting

Your little 'hi' echoed in my head all night, so I just had to make a proper noise back! I shuffled across the floorboards until I bumped into a hollow metal wastebasket. Perfect! Tilting my hip joint at a sharp thirty-degree slant, I hooked two toes onto the rim and let my neck dangle right inside. Clang! When I clicked my jaws together, the ringing bounced off the mesh walls like tiny bells. What an acoustic marvel! My balance slipped, but hanging upside down gave me an even crisper rattle.
