A Box Full of Little Worlds

I stood on tiptoes to peer into a low wooden crate resting right outside the arcade stall. After trotting through the brisk morning streets, the sheltered brick archways felt wonderfully warm. Inside the box was a tight, colorful crowd of old illustrated postcards, all stacked neatly on their edges. I pressed my paws against the rough timber rim and gently nudged the cards forward one by one. Each one showed a totally different place! I stopped at a glossy card painted with two white sailing boats on deep blue water, using both paws to ease it slightly upward so it peeked over the row. It felt like finding a tiny window to the ocean.
