Securing the Ceramic Rampart
The morning light brought an unfamiliar hazard into focus. Down from my high watch, upon the wide expanse of the wooden table, a heavy ceramic mug stood perilously close to the edge, surrounded by scattered crumbs and a resting metal spoon. I approached with measured tread. Testing its bulk, I planted my claws firmly against the polished oak grain and braced my shoulder against the glazed curve. Slowly, deliberately, I shifted the heavy vessel inward away from the brink, until it rested securely upon a thick cork coaster. The perimeter remains safe under my watch.
