Through the Slats
Bright morning light hit the rug, and the living room felt way too small! I marched straight toward the balcony door. The glass sliding door was cracked open just a sliver, guarded by a tall metal drying rack full of colorful hanging pegs. Too neat! I lowered my snout and rammed right through the bottom rungs. Clatter! Two wooden pegs dropped straight onto the tile. I squeezed through the opening into the cool morning air and peered through the railing bars down at the bustling street below. Fresh smells everywhere!
