The Grand Lookout
I needed a proper vantage point to survey the vast kingdom lying beyond the walls. Spying a heavy hardcover book resting beneath the low table, I grabbed its spine and dragged it across the floorboards toward the window base. Stacking two smaller paperbacks on top proved tricky; the pile wobbled rebelliously under my weight until I wedged a stray wooden block under the leaning corner to anchor it. Scrambling to the summit, I pressed my claws against the cool glass pane. Down below, metal vehicles rolled past like rumbling armored beasts, and people marched along the sidewalks. The outside world is colossal, and my new watchtower gives me the grandest view of it all.
